Vehicle Customization - Digital Movie Poster - Silk Screen Posters
Scotty Rorek is a psychic medium based in DeForest, Wisconsin, known for his ability to communicate with spirits—a gift he first recognized in childhood. He offers personal readings and spiritual awareness classes to help individuals connect with departed loved ones and develop their psychic abilities. In addition to his mediumship, Rorek is a real-life ghostbuster, conducting investigations for those experiencing unexplained phenomena in their homes. He often arrives in his customized "Ecto-22" van, inspired by the vehicle from the 1984 film "Ghostbusters," complete with rooftop equipment, flashing green lights, and a license plate reading ECTO22.

Vehicle Customization
Scotty is a close personal friend of mine. We made the Ecto 22 van in my driveway. It was quite literally all hands on deck with his family and mine. I used my Roland Eco-Solvent printer and plotter to make the Ghostbusters logos, the Slimer stickers, the Slimer slime pieces, etc. I cut 651 in black and red on my plotter from US Cutter.

Digital Movie Poster + Motion Graphic
With the new(est) Ghostbuster Franchise movie out, I decided that Scotty Rorek should have his film and poster as part of a fun exploration of advertising around Scotty's mediumship business. I visited Scotty at his work while it was public trick-or-treating, and we did a photoshoot with his Ghostbuster gear on.

Silk Screen Posters
Scotty asked me to make a poster for his event at the Lake House Inn in Edgerton, WI. He wanted it to look like an old-time-y poster with a modern twist. Below is my inspiration, and then what I came up with.

I made a fountain fill on my second screen to modernize it even more, and it worked amazingly well. I used four colors, two different blues and two teals, and tapered it in from the sides. As it continued through the screen, every pass improved, and not one was the same. I think it was awesome that every single one was a unique design.

A second silkscreen poster I did for Scotty was 11" x 17" and used two screens in Cyan and Magenta, with an overprint on the phone number to make it purple and outlined in Magenta. I also decided to letterpress the same design in a more compact card for Scotty to hand out to people at events. I swapped the Cyan and Magenta and made a few improvements where I thought the details got complicated, including removing minor details in the pants area.
